What is ‘Sitting’

If you want to go out and need someone to sit in your house (or the location you may be staying at) whilst your child/ren sleep for the majority of the session we class this as ‘sitting’.  Hours for sitting are from 6pm.  If, however, you need someone to take your children out or care for them during the day time then please refer to our temporary Nanny information sheet.

Our Staff

All of our staff (Sitters) have been personally interviewed face to face, have a childcare/care qualification and/or relevant experience, an enhanced CRB (police checked) and have been reference checked by us.
We can provide training in first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding children/adults, moving and handling and challenging behaviour.  Please check with us what training/qualifications the sitter has undertaken at the time of booking.

How does it Work?

You pay a membership fee to gain access to our staff database. 
Babysitting/Sitting fees are either a one-off booking fee of £10 + VAT each time you require our service, or a quarterly membership fee of £25 + VAT to have access to experienced and/or qualified Sitters when you need them. 
If you have a membership with us you will not pay anything else for using our service until you need to renew your membership.
These payments can be made straight to our bank (sort code 16 24 48 Account number 10070737 Nursery Staff Ltd), by cash or cheque.

You then pay the Sitter direct at the end of the session.
Membership fees cannot be refunded once paid.

What happens next?

The Sitter will come to your home at the agreed time.  (If you prefer you can arrange a pre-visit and you will pay the Sitter for the length of the pre-visit).  At the end of that time you will pay the Sitter for the hours they have worked, rounded up to the next quarter of an hour.

The rate that you pay the Sitter is your choice and is agreed when the booking is made but we would advise the below info on hourly rates which is inclusive of any travelling costs.

Information/Details

You are responsible for providing the Sitter with all the necessary information and details they will require.

Liability

The Agency endeavours to provide the Client with the most suitable candidates for sitting.  However the final decision to use a Sitter is the sole responsibility of the Client and the Agency does not accept any liability for any kind of inconvenience, loss or damage howsoever arising and whether caused directly or indirectly from an act or omission of a Sitter introduced by the Agency.  Similarly no warranty is offered in respect of the suitability, honesty, capability or character of any Sitter introduced by the Agency and employed by the Client.  In these circumstances the Sitter is not employed by the Agency, as we are providing a ‘finder’ style service.   The Client is responsible for ensuring that their home contents insurance includes cover for Employers and Public Liability insurance for domestic workers, including child carers.  The Agency does not exclude or restrict any liability for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence.

Cancellations

If you cancel the arrangement with less than 24 hours’ notice you will be invoiced for half of the session.

Special Occasions/Dates	Hourly rates will be negotiated at the time for special occasions e.g.: Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Sitting at a temporary address e.g. sports club or hotel, Bookings made with less than 4 hour’s notice
