Job Summary
Part Time Respite Carers
What does the work entail?
  • In summary you will work with a child who has a disability or special/additional needs.  You are there to safely take care of the child whilst they enjoy themselves.  You may be required to take them to the park, for a walk, swimming, to an adventure playground, to Legoland etc, and so you must be active.  This allows the family to have a much needed break.

What do we need from our carers? To summarise:

  • Obviously you must enjoy working with children with additional needs, a relevant qualification in childcare/care work would be advantageous
  • To have experience of working with disabilities, additional needs, special needs (this is a very specialised area of work)
  • Most jobs require the carer to take the child out and so we need people who can drive and have use of a car.  You will need business insurance but we can help you with this (it doesn't normally cost any more but depends on your insurance company).
  • You must be able to provide 3 good references, these will ideally be from previous employers and be childcare/care related
  • You must be able to provide/obtain an enhanced CRB

If you have what it takes and would like to be considered for this very specialised work please contact us at ‘Appleberry Care’ on 01628 664555 or download an application form; or email:admin@appleberrycare.co.uk
